First of all, I would like to thank you for your interest in SuperStar Auctions. Our site is not like other online auction sites, where you need to be the last highest bidder and you often get outbid by someone using an automated bid and monitoring tool. In addition to giving them an unfair advantage, this usually drives up the price. With SuperStar Auctions, you are the successful bidder when you have the lowest unique (unduplicated) bid. Since this is a blind auction, where the close of the auction is driven by a limited number of bids received, you can't wait until the last moment to place a bid that wins the auction.
Second, I would like to tell you a little about how we came to exist. I was a big user of eBay mostly bidding on items. I would get excited about the item I was bidding on even up to the last few seconds, but then wham-o I would get out bid in the last 1 to 2 seconds and only by a few bids. So I had enough and though there had to be a way to make the auction process better. I started to do research on what people liked and disliked about on-line auction processes. I came across a reverse auction and said, how can I make this better. So we implemented a process of the reverse auctions, put a blind bidding process along with a bid as the closing feature that drives the auction to close, not the date. This ensures that an automated bidding tool can't be used, a few months later... I took on a business partner and we launched SuperStar Auctions.
